The Dilemma

Valentina and Ava, both 12 years old, attend the same school where boys are encouraged to join sports teams while girls are often directed towards arts and crafts clubs. Valentina, however, has a keen interest in soccer and has been playing with her brother and his friends. When the school announces tryouts for the soccer team, Valentina is excited but also nervous. Ava, her best friend, is supportive but reminds Valentina of the unspoken rule that girls usually don't try out for the team. Valentina is torn between following her passion and conforming to the expectations around her. During lunch, Ava suggests they both join the art club instead, which is starting a new project that sounds fun.
